Aug 31, 2016. #1. I installed an external soil pipe, however the 4" solvent weld connected is leaking, tried to wipe more glue on but still weeping. I'll be taking out and renewing but there's a lot to take out then replace, do any of you have any sensible suggestions or know any product that will fix??

Now start rolling it into a snake-like shape. Make it as long as you need. Clean the area where you will use the putty. Dry the surface with a rag or towel. Lay the rope-shaped putty into the place where the seal is to be. Press into place until secured to the surface.
In two to five minutes before the putty dries, dunk the entire bandage roll in a bucket of water to wet it. Then, wrap the wet bandage around the pipe and putty, extending the bandage a bit beyond the putty on each side. There is no proper way to repair a joint that once was glued and is now leaking. It's very easy to cut out the leaking joint and replace with a short section of pipe and two coupling fittings.
