Ya the Deluxe is identical to Gold, except with Gold you get the Season pass for a little cheaper than it will cost after release.
For future reference, all story DLC are canon in AC. They are all canon to Assassin's Creed's story (which, in Odyssey's case, is a shame because both of its DLCs REALLY break the lore) Yes, they are all integral parts of the story.
